As I checked off country #15 a couple weeks ago, I’m reminded how traveling is really the best form of education. It’s raw. It’s real. But most importantly, it challenges the information we’ve been spoon fed all our lives. To learn is to live. And traveling is living in its purest form.
But what it does to you is synonymous to the effects of school. Sometimes you’re given a test, whether you’re ready for it or not. It’ll be thrown at you like bag of bricks, giving some people a black eye from the experience, and others a backbone; but then just enough confidence to try again.
I’ve learned that knowledge is as powerful as the intent in which you choose to use it. Feed your brain to broaden your perspective. I’ve never met someone who’s traveled and came back more closed-minded. What you’re doing, in essence, is expanding the space in your head with new experiences. And the best way to understand a culture is to dine with them, laugh with them, and learn from them. And lately, I’ve been fortunate enough to do all three. Peep the video below to see some highlights of my time in Morocco, Spain, and Portugal!
